to seek out. There are plenty of museums for young and old alike right here in
the town, and if you just can not get enough there are numerous other museums
in the surrounding area. Whether dance, horses, civil war, or hands on activities
are what you are searching for there is something for you. Enjoy the past colliding

The Children’s Museum at Saratoga was founded in 1990, and is now located
at 69 Caroline Street, Saratoga Springs, New York. The museum encourages hands
on learning on the topics of history, science, arts, and community living. They
encourage children to learn on their own through interactive exhibits and workshops.
Their programs also encourage parents to be involved in their children’s
learning process, helping out area schools.
Across the street from Saratoga Race Course is the National Museum of Racing.
This museum offers beautiful equine art, trophies, silks, and racing memorabilia.
There are walking tours of their permanent exhibits, and there’s always
something new and exciting at their Peter McBean Special Exhibition Gallery.
Inside the National Museum of Racing is the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame pays
tribute to jockeys, trainers, and of course the horses that have made a difference
or gone that extra mile or perhaps just traveled it faster. They also show two
different movies about horses and racing. Anything horse racing, this is your
place to go!

Inside the former Washington Bath House is a sight to behold for dancers of
all ages. The National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame has been here since
1986, and continues to draw dancers from all over the country. The location
of the museum inside the Saratoga State Park is beautiful in itself, and when
added to the generous amounts of history inside the museum you can not go wrong.
The museum offers videos, pictures, costumes, and biographies. Also if you were
so inclined, they hold classes right there at the museum, some of which are
allowed observers. No matter your past experience with dancing, this museum
is something to see.
If you are truly interested in learning more about the captivating town of
Saratoga Springs, then the Saratoga Springs History Museum is where you should
head. Since 1911, the museum has had a home in the Canfield Casino in Congress
Park. The museum offers three floors of the past, starting with the Anne Grey
Gallery. This gallery displays hundreds of items and also includes the museums
gift shop. The second floor consists of a rotating gallery which they change
every six months, and exhibits people who have made Saratoga Springs what it
is today. Finally the third floor holds the Walworth Memorial Museum, containing
seven rooms replicating the home of the internationally known Walworth family.
No matter what your taste for history is, there is something for you here at
Saratoga Springs. With these museums and more so close, it’s hard not
to get bitten by the museum bug.
